A bridal makeup consultation and preparation checklist

Begin with the ready-by time and location, then clarify the people, look, trial and expectations. A shared written recap keeps the appointment aligned with the wider wedding schedule.

Work backward from ready-by time

Ask when the client must be finished, where services happen and who else needs makeup. Confirm access and setup arrangements. Keep travel and schedule assumptions explicit instead of treating the ceremony time as the appointment deadline.

Make the reference useful

Ask which elements of each reference the client likes and what they want to avoid. Discuss comfort and finish preferences within your expertise. A trial, when part of your offer, is a place to evaluate and document the agreed look.

Separate the package from extras

State whether the service includes a trial, lashes, travel, touch-ups or additional people. Confirm the price and scope of requested extras. Collect only the personal information needed to prepare and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Send one final recap

List date, location, contact person, ready-by time, people included and agreed preparation instructions. Explain how to request a change. Keep the recap with the booking so the latest version is easy to find.

A worked example

A bride needs to leave at noon, but the enquiry only lists a 2 p.m. ceremony. Clarifying departure time changes the preparation plan before the booking is accepted.

Questions & answers

What should I collect before confirming the booking?

Start with event date, ready-by time, location, party size, reference looks and trial expectations. Ask only for information needed for the work, and clarify anything that changes scope or scheduling.

How can I use this checklist in EZ Customers?

Create a service and attach an intake form for the preparation questions. Keep the client details and booking together, then use payment requests or file delivery where they fit the service.
